Plain-English summary

  • After a Pro entitlement is confirmed, StoragePilot does not initialize or request ads.

Who we are

StoragePilot is provided by GreenVital LLC. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@greenvital.app.

Information processed on your device

With your permission, StoragePilot reads metadata and content from the photos, videos, audio, documents, and folders you choose or allow Android to expose. This processing is needed to show storage use, create thumbnails, detect duplicates, organize files, compress photos and videos, and perform file actions you request.

If you grant optional Android usage access, StoragePilot reads Android-provided storage byte totals for visible installed apps. It does not read or store app activity history.

Your files are not uploaded

StoragePilot does not upload your photos, videos, audio, documents, filenames, thumbnails, folder paths, file metadata, scan results, duplicate results, or compression outputs. The app has no account system, cloud storage, AI service, or StoragePilot-operated backend.

Advertising in the free version

The free version uses Google AdMob through Google's Mobile Ads SDK. According to Google's disclosures, the SDK may automatically collect and share:

  • IP address, which may be used to estimate general location.
  • Advertising and app interactions.
  • Diagnostic information.
  • Device or account identifiers.

Google may use this information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Google encrypts this data in transit. This advertising data is separate from the media and documents StoragePilot processes locally.

Consent and privacy choices

Google's User Messaging Platform checks consent status before the ads SDK is initialized. Where required, it presents consent choices and makes an Ad privacy choices entry available so you can review or change those choices.

Pro users

After StoragePilot confirms an active Pro entitlement, the app does not initialize or request ads. Google Play processes purchases and entitlement information under Google's own terms and privacy practices.

Information stored locally

StoragePilot may store the following information on your device:

  • Selected folder permissions.
  • Ignored-file identifiers and protected folder names.
  • Cleanup rule, lock, notification, and reminder preferences.
  • Active compression-job information and local scan history.
  • Recycle-bin records and app-managed document restore copies.

App-managed document restore copies remain in private app storage until restored, permanently deleted, expired under the selected retention setting, or removed when app data is cleared. Android app backup is disabled. Clearing app data or uninstalling StoragePilot removes its private preferences and local restore copies, subject to Android's handling of files stored outside private app storage.

File changes and safeguards

StoragePilot does not delete or replace a file without an explicit action. Android may display an additional system confirmation. Compression writes and validates a new copy before replacement is offered. Suggestions and cleanup rules do not delete files automatically.

Permissions

  • Photos, videos, and audio: used to display and manage media you allow StoragePilot to access.
  • Files and folders: Android's file picker grants access only to the items and folders you select.
  • Notifications: used for background compression progress and reminders you enable.
  • Usage access: optional access used only for Android-provided storage totals for visible apps.
  • App lock: authentication is handled by Android; StoragePilot does not receive your fingerprint, face, PIN, pattern, or password data.

You can review or revoke permissions in Android Settings.

Children

StoragePilot is a general storage utility and is not directed to children. The app does not operate an account system or collect files through a GreenVital backend. The free version's advertising behavior is described above.

Security

StoragePilot is designed to keep file processing on your device. Data handled by Google's Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. No app or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if StoragePilot's features, SDKs, or legal obligations change. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised date.
